Engineering Intern

SUMMARY:
Assist engineering staff with a variety of engineering related tasks including creation and analysis of distribution system flow models.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform the following duties under the direction of the engineering staff:

• Create and maintain high pressure and distribution system models by gathering and analyzing system performance data, customer loads and system loads with computer-based flow modeling software.
• Manage placement of pressure recording devices and review of system pressure data to effectively monitor system capacity and ensure compliance with State and Federal codes and company policy.
• Analyze system capacity and recommend alternative solutions to support the addition of new gas loads.
• Perform other assignments as required.

EDUCATION:
Must be a college student enrolled in a curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field (Mechanical or Civil Preferred).

COMPETENCIES:
Must have strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide effective and timely information to Company personnel and customers. Must have proficiency in operation and use of personal computers with commercially available software. Experience with flow modeling or similar software is beneficial.

INTERNSHIP PARAMETERS:
Work hours for this internship will consist of 15-20 hours per week during the school year, and no more than 37.5 hours per week during the summer months (3 months/year). The position is intended to last one to two years, however, the position may not exceed 1000 hours.

Pay - $15 per hour.
