Terms and Conditions

Deadline Dates: Rebate applications must be submitted within 90 days of final measure installation.

Eligibility: Energy conservation or energy-efficiency incentives are available to residential Participants of Cascade Natural Gas Corporation (CNGC) served on residential rate schedule 503 in the State of Washington. Program Eligibility requires:

  • The Participant must primarily heat water with natural gas provided by CNGC to qualify for all water-heating incentives.
  • The Participant must primarily heat home with natural gas provided by CNGC to qualify for heating incentives.
  • All equipment installed as an energy-efficiency measure must be new and must be installed according to current codes and standards for the premise location.
  • All equipment must be installed, and work must be completed by a licensed and bonded Washington State contractor, unless the equipment is self-installed when permitted by the program.

Incentive will be paid after completion and verification of the energy-saving measure(s) and submission of all required documentation. Participants are advised to retain a copy of this incentive application and any other documentation submitted to CNGC under this program.

Support Documentation: The incentive application and any additional required documentation must be filled out completely, truthfully, and accurately. An invoice itemizing the products purchased and/or work performed must be submitted with this application form. The document must include:

  • The date of purchase, installation date and/or date of service, and total project costs.
  • The size, type, make, model, serial number or part number for the energy-saving equipment.
  • Pre/post values, footage installed, and any required documentation for non-equipment energy-saving measures.
  • A description of any installation charges or other labor charges.

Support documentation for measures permitted by the program to be self-installed is required for all rebate-eligible, self-installed energy efficiency equipment. The documentation must include:

  • Copies of purchase receipts showing the date of purchase.
  • Photos of equipment sticker, or screenshot of equipment information in the smart equipment app, displaying brand, model number, and serial number.

CNGC will not return documentation received for the purpose of processing an incentive request. Participants should make copies of their documentation, if needed, prior to application submission.

Payment: Incentives shall be paid directly to the qualifying Participant or an authorized representative of the qualifying Participant in the amount authorized at the date of the measure’s completion. Please allow eight to twelve weeks for incentive processing.

Measures: Incentives for authorized energy-saving measures are as outlined in the current Conservation Plan. All incentive measures must meet CNGC’s energy conservation specifications. Current incentives, specifications and incentive amounts are as reflected on CNGC’s website at Residential Rebate Offerings – Cascade Natural Gas Corporation and are subject to change. Eligible measures must be installed during the effective dates of the current Conservation Plan to qualify for an incentive.

Disclaimer/No Liability: Participant understands that, while CNGC may have provided rebates for approved measures and equipment, CNGC is not selecting any particular equipment for installation or supervising work performed for Participant, nor is CNGC responsible in any way for proper completion of that work or proper performance of any equipment purchased. Participant voluntarily enters this agreement and assumes the risk of any loss or damage(s) that Participant may suffer in connection with the installation of the measures and equipment. CNGC does not guarantee any particular energy savings results by its approval of this application, or by any other of its actions.

Release: By participation in this program, Participant, for itself and its successors and assigns, hereby releases CNGC, its affiliates, and its and its affiliates’ officers, employees, agents, and contractors, from any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or expenses, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, or economic loss, arising from or in connection with the selection purchase, installation, operation, or maintenance of rebate-eligible equipment and measures.

By signing the Participation Agreement on the Rebate Application, the Participant agrees to the terms and conditions. Participant represents to CNGC that all energy-saving measures have been completed and Participant meets the eligibility requirements shown under the “Eligibility” section. CNGC and/or its representatives may request access to the property on which energy-saving measures have been completed and/or installed in order to verify that program requirements have been met. Participant understands that CNGC and/or its representatives may review and evaluate the project during and after completion. Participants agree to provide access to the property for the purpose described above. Failure to comply with these actions may result in rebate incentive forfeiture. Participant acknowledges CNGC may communicate with Participant in regard to this program via mail or email and consents to the same. Participant further consents to receive communications by mail or email about energy efficiency program offerings and energy saving recommendations. Participant may opt-out of marketing emails by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of emails.

Consent to Release of Participant Information: Participants consent to the release of their Participant information (including but not limited to name, service and mailing addresses, phone number, and account number) by CNGC for purposes of regulatory reporting and to its designated internal or third party representatives for the purpose of (1) issuing applicable conservation or efficiency incentives; and (2) verifying completion and/or installation of qualified energy-saving measures, applicable conservation or efficiency incentives.
