Temporary charge for Cascade Natural Gas customers ends March 31

KENNEWICK, WASH. – March 15, 2022 – A temporary charge for Cascade Natural Gas customers in Washington will end March 31, resulting in an overall price decrease of 8%. The average monthly payment for a residential customer will decrease by about $4.25.

The temporary charge, which was in place for three years, was associated with the unanticipated cost increases from a supply interruption due to an Enbridge pipeline explosion on Oct. 9, 2018. Any cost that remains at the end of March will be included in the company’s annual commodity deferral filing, effective Nov. 1.

The proposed change will affect all of Cascade’s Washington core customers. Transportation customers are not impacted by the filing made with the Utilities and Transportation Commission.
